Programmer/Installation Supervisor

Location: Fremont, OH

Motion Controls Robotics, located in Fremont, Ohio, is looking for a full time Programmer/Installation Supervisor to join their growing team. The position responsibilities include design and creation of robotic and PLC programs to integrate robotic cells for various automation applications as well as leading and managing teams during equipment installation. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical ability as well as the ability to coordinate, communicate, and manage people and resources. A solid understanding of electrical and mechanical systems as they pertain to robotic integration is required. Must possess a good attitude, good communication skills, safety conscience, and the ability to work well with others. Travel is required for service calls, start-up, as well as commissioning of automated equipment at customer facilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • A solid understanding of electrical and mechanical systems as they pertain to robotic integration
  • Create programs online and offline using FANUC software to: configure I/O, develop code to perform customer specified tasks, setup programs to communicate with a PLC and other peripheral equipment.
  • Create PLC programs and subroutines that contain the sequences and rungs to control an automated manufacturing system.
  • Assist in documenting and resolving customer and equipment issues.
  • Main point of contact and liaison at install site between MCRI and customer.
  • Collaborate with project manager plan/strategize installation personnel workloads and task lists.
  • Supervise and lead MCRI and contract installers.
  • Perform administration tasks regarding installation duties (PM reporting, meetings, timecards/labor tracking, sign in sheets).
  • Ensure MCRI Safety Policy and customer safety policy is being followed during installation.
  • Maintain onsite open issues list with customer and PM to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Train customers on the operation of the robotic equipment
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours and over time on an as-needed basis, involving extra hours during the week, Saturdays and occasionally Sundays and Holidays. Travel 50% - minimum.

Desired Education and Experience

  • Associate Degree required; preferably related to automation, robotics or manufacturing
  • Minimum 2 years of experience necessary
  • Experience with FANUC robots and controllers
  • Experience with PLC programming, Allen Bradley/Rockwell Logix and Siemens a plus
