Programmer/Service Technician

Location: Fremont, Ohio

Motion Controls Robotics, located in Fremont, Ohio, is looking for a full time Programmer/Service Technician to join their growing team. The position responsibilities include design and creation of robotic and PLC programs to integrate robotic cells for various automation applications. The ideal candidate will have a strong ability to develop code in various languages, configure software and hardware options along with electrical troubleshooting skills. Must possess a good attitude, good communication skills, safety conscience, and the ability to work well with others. Travel is required for service calls, start-up, as well as commissioning of automated equipment at customer facilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities


• Create programs online and offline using FANUC software to: configure I/O, develop code to perform customer specified tasks, setup programs to communicate with a PLC and other peripheral equipment
• Setup a FANUC iRVision system for error proofing and/or 2D guidance
• Configure a barcode scanner to read various types of barcode data and communicate with peripheral equipment
• Create backups of programs, understand and provide assistance in solving customer issues and documenting the issues and resolutions
• Must be able to train customers on the operation of the robotic equipment
• Must supply your own transportation and tools
• A solid understanding of Electrical and Mechanical systems as they pertain to robotic integration
• Possess organizational skills, maintain a neat and organized work environment, keep accurate time entry and customer billing data
• Must be willing to work flexible hours and over time on an as-needed basis, involving extra hours during the week, Saturdays and occasionally Sundays and Holidays.

Desired Education and Experience


• Associate Degree required; preferably related to automation, robotics or manufacturing
• Minimum 2 years of experience necessary
• Experience with FANUC robots and controllers
• Experience with PLC programming, Allen Bradley/Rockwell Logix and Siemens a plus
