Controller- Accounting Manager

Motion Controls Robotics (MCRI), located in Fremont, Ohio, is seeking a Controller/Accounting Manager to join their growing team.  The successful candidate will be responsible for the direct supervision of all accounting and financial functions.  They will also be part of a team that creates and implements policies and procedures to identify, resolve and document accounting issues in addition to creating procedures to make the close and reporting processes more efficient and accurate.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
  • Oversee the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives
  • Oversee the accounting operations of subsidiary corporations, especially their control systems, transaction-processing operations, and policies and procedures.
  • Oversee the operations of purchasing and shipping and receiving

  • Ensure that accounts payable are paid in a timely manner
  • Ensure that all reasonable discounts are taken on accounts payable
  • Ensure that accounts receivable are collected promptly
  • Ensure that periodic bank reconciliations are completed
  • Ensure that required debt payments are made on a timely basis
  • Highly skilled in cashflow management
  • Maintain the chart of accounts
  • Maintain an orderly accounting filing system
  • Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions

  • Create and establish corporate purchasing protocols for outside contractors, yearly vendor contracts, blanket purchase orders and delayed quantity shipments
  • Establishes purchasing policies and ensure compliance
  • Develops new supply sources where vendors are inadequate
  • Establishes account/credit terms.

  • Issue timely and complete financial statements
  • Coordinate the preparation of the corporate annual report
  • Recommend benchmarks against which to measure the performance of company operations
  • Calculate and issue financial and operating metrics
  • Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts
  • Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management
  • Provide for a system of management cost reports
  • Provide financial analyses as needed, in particular for capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations

  • Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit
  • Monitor debt levels and compliance with debt covenants
  • Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, or relative field
  • 10 years’ experience in financial statement preparation, managing accounting operations, review/audit assessment, business management, and purchasing management
  • Experience in manufacturing financials on a percent complete format
  • Experience in large capital equipment contracts
  • Very high language, and reasoning skills, expert math skills
  • Abilities in ERP, Expensify or other digital expense reimbursement software, and Crystal Reports
