Mechanical Assembly Supervisor

Motion Controls Robotics (MCRI), located in Fremont, Ohio, is seeking a Mechanical Assembly Supervisor to join their growing team.  The successful candidate will be responsible for the daily activities for the assembly department that include, but are not limited to, quality, safety, and production.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Perform needed supervisory duties, including approving employee hours, vacation approval, disciplinary action as needed, annual reviews, etc.
  • Coordinate the purchase of materials necessary for project completion.
  • Hold regular meetings with assembly workers to clarify priorities, answer questions, track performance, set expectations, etc.
  • Coordinate employee’s availability and travel plans for service and installation needs with the Project Manager
  • Supervise and support mechanical assembly employees working offsite for service and installation
  • Establish daily and weekly production schedule to ensure meeting customer expectations and effectively communicate schedule to all impacted production employees
  • Monitor workload versus capacity and add capacity (production hours and/or people) as needed to meet customer expectations
  • Select and supervise outside contractors for internal work, as needed
  • Champion safety for all production workers. Monitor safety issues and resolve issues that may create an unsafe environment.
  • Work with Project Managers to create set of assembly instructions and timing for each project
  • Provide feedback to Sales and Project Managers on the impact of changes to established schedule of projects when a new project is added, or existing priorities are changed
  • Provide estimated dates to Sales and Project Managers for new projects, as needed.
  • Work with HR to develop and implement programs to ensure adequate staffing, training, cross-training, etc. are in place to provide needed flexibility to maximize efficiency and customer service.
  • Assist HR in hiring and terminations.
  • Prepare weekly/monthly report to be shared with management team. Report should summarize performance for the period, share any significant issues and anticipated upcoming issues.  (Think about the 3 “Ps” of People, Performance and Projects)
  • Assist with misc. tasks as requested for company events (potlucks, meetings, etc.…)

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma
  • Two-year degree or supervisor certificate preferred
  • 2-5 years of supervisory experience required
