Controls Engineer – Programmer
Job Type: Full-time, on-site at Fremont, Ohio. Travel to customer sites is required.
Salary: $75,000 – $90,000 a year

Position Overview:
MCRI has a full-time opportunity for an experienced Robotic Controls Engineer/Programmer. The Controls Engineer/Programmer is responsible for developing and implementing robot program architecture all while following a standard structure that aligns with the application requirements. This includes utilizing robot simulation software, integration with hardware and testing/debugging equipment. Equipment is then run through its paces for acceptance testing with the customer. Upon acceptance, the equipment will be shipped to its final factory location where you will be a part of equipment interfacing, startup, production debug, and customer training.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Create controls programming for automated robotic manufacturing systems.
- Perform controls programming in various platforms and languages.
- Develop code and configure I/O to perform application specific tasks.
- Setup programs to communicate between PLC, robot, and other peripheral equipment.
- Review backups of legacy/existing systems.
- Train customers on the operation of automation equipment and HMIs.
- Support customer service requests.
- Assist in ensuring all equipment is properly programmed, serviced and running at its optimal level before leaving MCRI.
- Must be willing to work flexible hours and overtime on an as-needed basis, and on occasion, weekends for integration start-ups.
- Must be willing to travel up to 40%.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of experience and Associates Degree required; preferably related to automation, robotics or manufacturing.
- Experience with FANUC robots and controllers.
- Experience with PLC programming, Allen Bradley/Rockwell Logix, Factory Talk, and Siemens/Omron is a plus.
- Experience with ROBOGUIDE, HandlingTool, PalletTool, PickTool, iRVision, PLC Ladder Logic, HMI, VFD, servo motion along Ethernet, PROFINET and DeviceNET networks.
- Must supply your own transportation and tools.
- Travel requirement is up to 40%. MCRI offers travel compensation, and funds travel expenses pertaining to MCRI work and training.
- Must maintain a valid passport for international travel when necessary. MCRI reimburses passport fees.
