Motion Controls Robotics provides robotic depalletizing systems for manufacturing and distribution facilities that perform depalletizing operations. Robotic depalletizing can be used for further processing or for order fulfillment. Motion Controls Robotics can use vision to find and locate haphazard material by adding a camera on the robot or above the load to determine where the cases are. In a system, three types of products can be depalletized to create a flavored pallet of different types of drinks or products. Depalletizing can also be used to load a machine or conveyor.
Depalletizing - Robot Systems
Depalletizing - Mixed Layer
Features of Robotic Depalletizing
- Tier sheets, toss in a bin, or put in a rack.
- Restack empty pallets
- Use vision to locate product
- Vision can teach on the fly for products that have never been introduced before, making system more flexible
- Robotic depalletize cases, bags, bundles, trays, totes, pails, pallets, and tier sheets
- Product Tracking and Tracing
Vision-first depalletizing for mixed order pallets
Inbound order pallets rarely look the same twice, with mixed products, case sizes, differing weights, and orientations that challenge consistent depalletizing. By combining FANUC’s iPC Vision, AI Box Locator Tool, and 3DV/1600 area sensor, this complexity becomes manageable. Each pick begins with a single image that transforms into a detailed 3D map of the pallet, enabling the robot to plan every move with confidence.
“When the system can see everything, it can handle anything.”
What is random case depalletizing?
Random case depalletizing is the automated removal of mixed-SKU cases from inbound order pallets where sizes, graphics, and orientations vary. Instead of relying on weight or pre-sorted layers, a vision system identifies visible cases and chooses the next best pick in real time.
Who benefits? Distribution and fulfillment centers, co-packers, food & beverage, consumer goods, and any operation receiving mixed order pallets that need fast, consistent unloading into downstream processes like conveyors, sortation, or case prep.
