Controls Engineer

Location: Fremont, Ohio

Motion Controls Robotics, located in Fremont, Ohio, is looking for a full time Controls Engineer to join their growing team. This position requires the knowledge to integrate safety and controls into a robotic system for various factory applications. A strong ability to design based on industry standards and customer requirements is needed. Knowledge of back panel drawings, electronic componentry, and ability to specify appropriate sizing of overcurrent protection and power distribution is necessary. Must possess a good attitude, good communication skills, safety conscience, and the ability to work well with others.

This positions affords a high degree of responsibility and autonomy in your work. With a desire to learn more about the robotics industry, the opportunity for advancement is available. Training opportunities include: on-the-job training, tuition payment for courses related to your position and/or a degree, and onsite or internet based training from the leading provider of robots, FANUC America.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Ability to proficiently use a company supplied PC running a Windows operating system
• Back panel design
• Safety circuit design
• Machine power distribution design
• Understanding of robotic safety standards applicable to robot safety design
• Controls circuit/electrical schematic design
• Ability to work with outside vendors to stay current on and utilize new technology
• General understanding of pneumatically actuated systems
• Solid understanding of mechanical systems
• Possess organizational skills, maintain a neat and organized work environment, and keep accurate time entry

Desired Education and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree or a two year degree with two to three years of job-related experience
• AutoCAD Electrical/AutoCAD
