Position Overview

MCRI is looking for an innovative individual to join our team as a Shop Utility. This position is responsible for assisting all facets of MCRI Production based on work requirements. Shop Utility will help the Finish Department, Shipping Department, Building Maintenance and Assembly. The amount of time spent in each area will vary from week to week. Training opportunities include on-the-job training as well as off-site training.

As a core member of the MCRI Team, you will work together as a team to maximize the effectiveness of the production team

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Read and comprehend mechanical and electrical drawings.
• Install conveyors, framework, robots, tooling, and guarding.
• Install and wire conveyor motors, junction boxes, sensors, stack lights and light curtains.
• Provide support and back up to Primary Painter
  • Spray paint metal surfaces coating metal frames and machined parts using a hand spray gun
  • Mix paint to specifications provided and set up hand paint gun for paint application
  • Clean grease and dirt from product prior to coating
  • Maintain painting equipment, tools and work area
• Machinery preventative maintenance and repairs
• Building Repairs and Maintenance as designated by Production Manager
• machining such as operating sanders, grinders, band saws, etc.
• Assembly of purchased items and manufactured components
• Provide support and back up to Primary Shipper
  
  • Receive Items into Encompix
  • Put items into correct location and allocate correctly into Encompix
  • Transport materials to/from MCRI to secondary vendors/customers
  • Palletize items prior to shipments leaving MCRI.
  • Manage pallet yard to have appropriate levels on hand, including lumber and hardware.
• Operate forklift and provide forklift training.
• Work hours and overtime on an as needed basis, involving extra hours during the week, Saturdays, and occasionally Sundays/Holidays.
• Possess personal organizational skills, follow company procedures, maintain documentation in a proper manner and accurate time entry.
• Must be punctual, safety conscious, willing to learn, patient, a clear communicator, have a good attitude and maintain a professional appearance.

Requirements

• 3+ years Shipping/Receiving experience
• Possess a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Must have ability to haul trailers and secure equipment/loads in truck/trailer.
• Must have own basic tools and an ability to utilize a variety of machine shop power tools.
• Regularly lift 30-50 pounds and perform repetitive tasks.
• Ability to lift, bend, stretch, reach, kneel, push, pull, and other functions needed.
• Regularly possess manual dexterity to put parts or pieces together quickly and accurately.
• Able to work through tasks and challenges in an efficient/resourceful manner.

Preferred Requirements

• Industrial Painting Experience
• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with experience in machine assembly, pneumatics, basic welding, basic machining, fabrication, and wiring.
• Strong computer operation and software knowledge.
• Intermediate language and strong math skills, high level reasoning skills.

Job Type:

 Full-time, on-site at Fremont, Ohio Pay:   $18 - $21 / hour based on experience, plus additional hourly travel incentive.
